Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, marks a time of preparation and self-reflection in the Christian tradition as we prepare for the 40-day journey of Lent. Historically, many Christians have used this day to use up rich foods like butter, eggs, flour, and fat before the fasting of Lent begins. That's why Shrove Tuesday meals often feature pancakes--a delicious way to close out the season of feasting before the season of fasting.
We invite the St. Paul UMC family and friends to join us for a joyful evening of fellowship and delicious pancakes at our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. It is a great opportunity to come together in community and share a meal before the Lenten season begins.
