In November 2023, the U.S. Army set aside the convictions of 110 Black soldiers affected by the Houston Riot of 1917, recognizing their honorable military service more than a century later.
Among them was Corporal Larmon J. Brown, who rests at St. Paul United Methodist Church cemetery. Thanks to dedicated efforts to recover his story, his service is now being honored with a military-issued headstone.
Join us for a special recognition service at 12 noon on Sunday, November 8, 2026, following The Express Worship service at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Together, we will honor Corporal Brown’s life and service and thank those who made this tribute possible.
